Dear Friend,
As the future artistic director of the New York Philharmonic, Gustavo Dudamel, once said: “Music is a fundamental human right. It has the power to heal, inspire, and unite . . . music brings us together and changes lives.” Dudamel’s words succinctly express the motivation and mission of Jazz and Classics for Change (JCfC).
With your help we completed our 2024 season and it was a resounding success. Audience members spoke of how meaningful the concerts were: “The program was a transcendent experience,” “A glorious occasion, a wonder,” “The genius of Bach has been opened up to me.” However, ticket sales cover only a portion of the cost. JCfC depends upon you, our generous supporters, to bring the transformative power of music to our diverse communities in Columbia and Berkshire countries.
We are now actively preparing for 2025. On May 17 Grammy-nominated jazz clarinetist, Anat Cohen, and her partner seven-string guitarist, Marcello Gonçalves, will be performing at Saint James Place in Great Barrington. Additionally, several more concerts are in the planning stages and slotted to return to beautiful Tydeman Farm and Mettabee Farm and Arts. We are also developing seven new outreach programs for young adults and adults with special abilities, seniors in assisted living communities, and for children of underserved communities.
With your help we have the opportunity to make a significant and worthwhile impact in the lives of so many with the healing power of music. However, we can’t do it without you. Please consider a donation by visiting our website or by completing the attached form and returning it with your contribution in the enclosed envelope. Jazz & Classics for Change is a public tax-exempt charitable foundation. Your contribution is tax-deductible as allowed by law.
A generous donor is currently offering a $7,500 matching grant. Your donation will be doubled, up to this amount.
As always, we remain deeply grateful for your continuing and unwavering support and on behalf of the board and staff of JCfC, we wish you a peaceful and joyous holiday season.
